‎‧₊˚✧ About Cosmos In a Cup ✧˚₊‧

& THIS CHARACTER CALLED “ANNETTE”

I used to like playing a mental game where I tried to figure out what the singular, ultimate source of something was.

For a book, I would imagine the forest the paper was sourced from. Seeing axes and heavy machinery, I thought of the people whose hands were doing the lumber work. That led me to wonder about what had been in their lunch pails that day—where their energy had come from.

Their fruit and sandwiches had to originate from somewhere, though. So I was back at square one, imagining the various processes that poured into the fruit farmer’s and baker’s day. And then there were the manufacturers… the truck drivers… the market clerks.

I could never quite pin down one specific origin of any product or process. Every “corner” I explored in my mind actually revealed itself to be a loop.

Because there really isn’t a singular event that linearly explains anything about our existence.

Everything is an intricate, interrelated process. Each moment is the culmination of an infinite number of variables that are constantly in flux. We’re simply here, experiencing it.

This is what Cosmos In A Cup is all about. Here, we delve into matters of the mind in terms of environmental and social stewardship; the body, through food choice considerations; the soul, via heart-lifting interactions with people; and the world, with reflections from global scenes and societies.

Sure, it’s a niche set of topics—but there are many paths up a mountain. The concept is ubiquitous. Everything contained in these pages is somehow relevant to The Grand Scheme Of Things.

Inner and outer harmony is a real possibility. By cultivating a greater sense of intention in our everyday lives, more of us will come to realize our inherent Oneness—not only amongst ourselves, but also with all of earth’s life and the universe at large.

My hope is that one day, we all will see the cosmos in our cups. ☕︎

The more deeply we perceive, the more striking becomes the evidence that a uniform plan links every form in manifold nature.
